By results of the Super Final, the winner was Alina Plyushch, adviser at Sayenko Kharenko law firm. The second place took Serhiy Skrypnyk, journalist of business portal UAprom.info. The third place went to Volodymyr Golovko, executive director of CO-OP Media.
“Today is my lucky day! I not only won the sixth all-Ukrainian preference championship among journalists, but also outplayed Garik Korogodskyi, preference world champion. As a prize, I received his book with a wonderful dedicatory inscription,” Alina Plyushch commented on her victory.
For the first time, the tournament players competed for the prize pool doubled by partner company Group Metinvest.
'It is now a good tradition for us to support the only sport preference tournament among journalists in Ukraine. This is an excellent opportunity to meet with colleagues in [an] informal atmosphere and to play the intellectual game, as well as to take a masterclass from real professionals. This year, Group Metinvest decided to double the prize pool, having thus, I hope, added the joy to the tournament winners,' noted Volodymyr Ravinsky, Head of Media Relations Department of Group Metinvest.
'After all, five hours of preference brace up. I haven’t won yet again, but enjoyed myself immensely and had a chance to play against the current and future champions at the same table,' said Ivan Zaytsev, editor-in-chief of Ukrainian Retail Association.
The preference tournament brought together representatives of business, journalists, and editors of business and sociopolitical editions of Ukraine, namely IA RBC Ukraine, IA Ukranews, IA Interfax Ukraine, portal UAprom.info, television and radio broadcasting company Era, Dzerkalo Tyzhnya Ukraine, EnergoBusiness, Ukrinform, magazine Public People, UA Energy, Ukrainian Retail Association, etc.
The event included a tournament for players as well as masterclasses for beginners from world-class preference players Oleksiy Tikhonovskyi and Drazhner. In the end, Serhiy Goiko, the main brewing technologist of the restaurant Pivna Duma, gave the tour around the craft brewery.
The game lasted for 400 minutes, in full observance of the Preference Ethics Code. Sport Preference Federation of Ukraine elaborated the policy for the tournament, which consists of three rounds and the Super Final round. The main judge of the International Preference League, Volodymyr Belun, acted as a judge at the tournament.
The championship was held under the auspice of the PRESSZVANIE contest, with support of the International Preference League and the Sport Preference Federation of Ukraine.
