'A well-planned press tour should include three things: main official events, extracurricular activities, and personal time that doesn’t contradict the program or the healthy hours of sleep. The program of this press tour had it all. And of course the dinner at Ballindalloch Castle including hours of preparation trying to put on the kilt right, and a day in Edinburgh added a special flavor to the journey'
Mainstream Takes Journalists to Scotland

This month Mainstream Communication & Consulting held an international press tour to the distilleries of William Grant & Sons LTD based in Scotland.

Six journalists from four countries of the CIS region (Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Belarus) have visited Glenfiddich and The Balvenie distilleries, discovering the taste of the world-known single malt whisky and digging into the history of the William Grant & Sons family business and traditions.

Brand ambassadors of the company took the media representatives through every stage of malting the premium product and talked them through the several tastings, helping them to understand and experience the whole scale of aroma present in each kind of whisky.

The journalists also took part in a blending session creating three kinds of their own blended whisky. The peak of the press trip was the final dinner at Ballindalloch Castle with a member of the aristocrat family, who owns the place in the 24th generation. The whole team was invited to wear the national Scottish kilts for the occasion. The dinner was lead by the Glenfiddich brand ambassador and of course included tasting of a vintage version of the whisky.
