Actor Andrey Urgant and his son TV-presenter Ivan Urgant emceed the anniversary ceremony of awarding the winners of the Vth International Contest 'Prize of Business Circles 'PRESSzvanie 2009', which took place in Kiev on March 27.

Best business journalists and editors as well as top managers of companies that, in journalists’ opinion, interacted with mass media better than others, were awarded at the fifth annual ceremony for winners of the 'PRESSzvanie' Contest.

The National Theatre of Operetta gathered about 300 guests on Saturday night: nominees, jury members, the contest partners, participants of previous years, relatives and friends who came to congratulate the best on their deserved victory. The award ceremony was attended by special guests from Russia: President of Moscow Association of Businessmen Andrey Podenok and Executive Director of International Contest of Business Journalism PRESSzvanie (Russia) Nadezhda Yavdolyuk.

The red carpet led guests to the ancient palace, where they were solemnly welcomed by mimes-patricians to the sounds of harps. On the stage, which represented the square of justice of Ancient Rome, there were gladiator fights. In past ages the victory was gained with swords, and in the current age of information technologies the victory is secured with a word.

'Veni, vidi, scripci! — I came, I saw, and I wrote!' that was the motto of the Contest and the solemn awarding ceremony. The Urgant dynasty ran the evening, showering jokes and witty remarks. 'Well, we’ve given awards in all profile nominations. So now I’m thoroughly familiar with the names of all business media. Well, everything about magic and magicians — the magazine 'Focus' (Magic trick); the Internet newspaper about how bad everything is — 'Ekonomicheskaya Pravda' (Economic truth); the business weekly on the issues that Russia doesn’t want to reconsider with Ukraine — 'Kontrakty' (Contracts); the magazine revealing the secret why everyone addresses Abramovych with reverence and in whisper — weekly 'Vlast Deneg' (Power of money),' the MCs were joking. The second part of the celebration included a buffet table and after-party in the 'TZAR project' night club.

Twice awardee of the Contest 'PRESSzvanie 2009' Yuriy Yeryomin, 'Delovaya Stolitsa': 'Mainstream is one of the most professional companies, capable of organizing such events at the European level. The ceremony was perfect. I wish them not to stop at what has been accomplished and organize even better events. Though, I’m not sure if there’s any room for improvement.'

Names of all prize-winners and points they scored can be found on the Contest website. The Prize was established in 2005, since then the award ceremony turned into one of the most significant events for representatives of business circles, business editors and journalists.

This year awards were given in 10 profile and 3 image nominations. Partners of nominations were: SCM, Metinvest, TNK-BP Commerce, Odessa Port Plant, and DTEK. Information partners were: 'Ekonomika' publishing house, MMR magazine, 'Vlast Deneg' magazine, News TV channel '24', the Ukrainian News, First Business Channel, and 'Ekonomicheskie Izvestiya' daily newspaper.
