Mainstream Communication & Consulting organised music competition IRISH TRUE

Within the past two months, company Mainstream has implemented a project for brand of Irish whiskey Tullamore D.E.W. — music competition IRISH TRUE.

IRISH TRUE is the competition for the best cover version of a song of a popular Irish performer or a band. Partners of the competition were online resource Vgorode.ua and Prosto Radi.O, and its objective was to help young bands and cover-bands of the country to make name for themselves.

On air of the radio station, the audience heard a lot about touristic and alternative Ireland — one of the most attractive and mysterious European countries.

All the willing could send records of their covers to the competition website. Out of more than fifty applications from both professional performers and newcomers, the jury shortlisted thirty. And only five of them made it to the final. The competition finalists were performer Jerry Heil, bands Indytronics, High Score, Jolly’s, and Fugue Fish.

Final took place on the 20th of December. Indytronics band became the winner of the contest with cover to the song by Kodaline — All I Want.

«For a young band, any activity is already great. It does not matter what it is — competition, occasion, anything — if you can do it you should try. Irish True was the most unusual competition we’ve ever taken part in. Once we are back from Dublin, I suppose we will have something to tell about,» — commented Danil Bogdanenko, frontman of Indytronics band.

The competition judges were representatives of Ukrainian show business industry: Andrey Shabanov, General Producer of Prosto Radi.O; Vitaliy Klimov, first producer of OE; Andrey Zaytsev, host of morning show on Prosto Radi.O; representatives of Tullamore D.E.W. brand and Vgorode.ua online resource. The competition finalists had to win support of fans as well — a part of scores they received by results of voting in social networks.

The reason for this is not only holding of Eurovision-2017 in Kyiv — today it is worth paying the attention to young performers. Since the core of brand Tullamore D.E.W. is freedom, creativity and rebellious spirit, it is virtually our vocation to develop the music culture of the country,» — commented Edward Bakhurinsky, Regional Director for William Grant & Sons.
«This project is the best thing that could have happened in Ukrainian radio space in the end of the year. I simply fell in love with Ireland after all of these. If earlier Dublin did not appear on my travel map, now it is my NUMBER 1!» — shared Andrey Shabanov, General Producer of Prosto Radi.O.

Main prize of the IRISH TRUE competition is a trip to Dublin and performance of the own cover-programme in one of the best pubs of the Irish capital!

Tullamore D.E.W. is an Irish whiskey with very deep and soft taste. The history of the brand begins with the launch of the cognominal distillery in the town of Tullamore in 1829. The beverage has inherited its name after the manager of the distillery Daniel Edmund Williams whose initials are on each bottle of Tullamore D.E.W. For this triple-distilled whiskey are used three cask varieties in maturation: traditional, ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks.
