Press tour to the Asian Davos


Mainstream participated in a press tour to the IVth Astana Economic Forum, which took place in the capital of Kazakhstan on May 3-4, 2011.

This annual event, which is already referred to as the «Asian Davos», is acknowledged to be an important international platform for producing mechanisms for the global economics’ post-crisis development. This year the Forum gathered over 5000 participants from over 80 countries of the world.

The main events of the IVth Astana Economic Forum were discussing the idea of the Kazakh President N. Nazarbaev to create a new global reserve currency as well as the decision to form a permanent Astana Club of Nobel Laureates. Over 350 Kazakh journalists and about 100 foreign journalists covered the Forum. Ukrainian media were represented by the national TV-channel STB.

During the event journalists took part in the Forum official sessions. Besides, its organizers arranged meetings with Nobel Prize winners, politicians, businessmen, representatives of the largest companies of Kazakhstan, Russia and other countries that participated in the Forum.
