Ukraine celebrated International Day of Families
May 13, 2011, on the eve of the International Day of Families, Mainstream Communication & Consulting conducted a press conference on the topic of «Pressing issues of families and children upbringing in Ukraine».
The press conference discussed issues of children protection against modern negative trends, counteraction to introduction of anti-family technologies, assistance to educational institutions in their character building and awareness raising activities, as well as promotion of traditional family, moral and spiritual values.
Participants of the press conference were:
- Vadym Kolesnichenko, people’s deputy of Ukraine.
- Igor Druz, political scientist, Head of NGO «People’s Council».
- Tatiana Shishova, vice-president of «Foundation for Social and Psychological Assistance to Families and Children», psychologist and teacher (Russia).
- Johanna Keresten, Head of the Parent-Teacher Organization of Dnepropetrovsk.
The press conference was held as a part of an All-Ukrainian Parent’s Forum, in which participated over 500 representatives of the parent-teacher movement: teachers, lawyers, members of the clergy, psychologists and NGO leaders. It was organized by non-governmental organizations «Parent-Teacher Organization of Ukraine» and «People’s Council».
The event was supported by the Ministry of Education, the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, the Ministry of Justice, and the Federation of Trade Unions.
