Mainstream Becomes PR-partner of 75th anniversary of FC Shakhtar Project


Football club «Shakhtar» appointed Mainstream after a competitive pitch to provide PR-support in the framework of «The Club’s 75th Anniversary» project.

Year 2011 is the anniversary year for FC «Shakhtar». Therefore, to celebrate the club’s 75th anniversary there will be numerous national scale events held throughout the year. Mainstream will provide PR-support to the project and organize some of those events in the course of cooperation.

declared FC «Shakhtar» marketing and communications director Yuriy Sviridov.

Plans for the next few months include opening of FC «Shakhtar» Walk of Fame, a match between veterans of «Shakhtar» and «Dynamo» Kyiv, Congress of youth football coaches from the leading club schools of Europe, youth tournaments of «Shakhtar» Academy, Barcelona, Manchester City, Ajax, Inter, summer football camps, Shakhtar School Cup Final, Shakhtar Students Cup Final and many others. Besides, by the anniversary fans will be able to read books by the Club head coach Mircea Lucescu and the team goalkeeper Andriy Pyatov, moreover, a book on sports medicine will be released soon. Release of the film and the book «75th anniversary of FC „Shakhtar“», which will give a detailed and picturesque description of all milestones of the Ukrainian club’s victorious way, won’t take long to appear.

FC «Shakhtar» is the most successful Ukrainian football club of the last decade, which has its history and traditions, and, most importantly, forms the future of Ukrainian football. The Club managed to achieve a lot over the 75 years of its existence: played 2548 official matches and won in 1199 of them. 3930 goals were scored in those matches, 571 footballers played for FC «Shakhtar», and the team had 31 coaches in different years. FC «Shakhtar» won the UEFA Cup Final, five Ukrainian Championships, six Ukrainian Cups, and four USSR Cups over its 75-year history.
